Mike Wamsley & Scott Halford

Mike starting working in the industrial mechanical / Instrumentation industry in 2000 in a warehouse for service and calibrations. Then moved on in the industry as a Millwright working on large steam, hot water and compressed air system recertifying safety relief valves. In 2007 started apprenticeship in the refrigeration and heating trade servicing residential, commercial and industrial applications.

In 2008 received the Sporal personal excellence award. Level 3 received the gold medal in Manitoba skills Comp and bronze medal in Canadian Skills Competition in Edmonton. After years of being a red seal refrigeration mechanical and red seal “A” ticket mechanical, decided to branch off with Scott Halford to have a company that we could be proud of. Doing service and installations the way that we would want it done for our family members.

Started his Apprenticeship in 2012 obtaining a Red Seal in Commercial Refrigeration. Following up the Refrigeration ticket with a Red Seal in A Gas fitting completed in 2019. Upon completion he was awarded the 2019 Highest Achievement award in the Trade of Gasfitter A.

Incorporated Walmer Mechanical Ltd. with Mike in 2018 doing solely residential in addition to working daytime commercial/industrial work. In March 2020 the choice was made to do Walmer Mechanical Ltd. full time so our work portfolio was modified to include commercial and industrial.

Mike is the only honest guy I have ever encountered where specifically informed me that our furnace is still in good condition and though it’s too old already , he promised that parts are still available whenever we have problem with it , unlike other companies who keep insisting to replace it just to have a sales from customer just to ripped us off. Thankfully there is still a guy like him who is truly honest with his work and to his customer as well. Thanks Mike for being so reliable and dependable.

I had an emergency issue, within a couple hours of calling Walmer, they were on site, replaced the broken part, immediately submitted required paperwork to the city. Extremely knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. They have a new customer for life.

Fast and reliable service. I had an out-of-nowhere issue with my heating and they had someone on site within an hour of calling and the whole thing was fixed a few hours after that. We have an older style boiler heating system and their staff has no problem identifying and fixing the issue, which was a malfunction inlet pressure regulation valve

Technician showed up at the designated time and was able to locate the problem with our Geo unit and fix it in short order. Technician was very knowledgeble and effective in his approach to locating the problem and rectifying it. Walmer was great to work with and provided excellent customer service when my old boiler system failed me right in the middle of January. Scott and Mike were great, they responded fast , quoted me options for repairing my existing system or upgrading to a new one and answered all my questions, explaining everything thoroughly for me so I understood and could make an educated decision.I chose to go with a brand new system instead of the band aide fix because I knew I needed a new boiler soon anyways. They delivered and installed within a week, retrofitting into my existing pipework, and provided me with loaner space heaters so I still had heat in the house until the new system was up and running. Fantastic experience all around and I would highly recommend!

100% recommend Walmer Mechanical Ltd. They provided us with speedy quotes and different options so that we could pick the one that worked best for us. Walked us through how to work with Hydro to get what we needed from them and worked hard, long hours to get the new furnace in for us as quickly as they could. Mike and Stephen were great!
